Do you have insurance?
I have public liability insurance. This ensures I am covered in case of an accident, such as bumping into a guest with my lens, or someone tripping over my tripod for example…Some wedding venues actually require all photographers to provide proof of their insurance before working on their premises.
What happens if you’re ill or there is an emergency?
I have a list of trusted photographers I can call upon if I cannot make it. I will then edit the images in my signature style so you will receive the same end results.
How much would it cost for an additional hour?
You may have booked your package and timings, however you may have changed the timings slightly, the cake cutting has been moved back slightly which has moved your first dance back so it is little later now, if timings are tight you can add extra time to any of the packages. For full day coverage it is an extra £150/hour. For elopements and smaller packages we can negotiate a price depending on your booking. It maybe better to have your photographer booked to be there a little later so that you don’t feel rushed and stressed on the day to get everything done before your photographer leaves.
How much is it for a second shooter?
A second shooter makes sense if you are planning larger wedding or if you want photos of you and your bridesmaids getting ready which maybe in one location, and then the groom and the guys getting ready in another. If you fancy adding a 2nd photographer, this not only allows the capture of both the bride and grooms preparations, it also opens up a whole world of extra angles and creative shots. A second shooter can be hired for an additional £400.
Can I request certain images to be taken?
I will ask you for a family photo list before the wedding. Make sure you let your photographer know an have someone help round up the people when the shots are going to be done. Please keep the list short so I don’t miss out on time to shoot the natural documentary style moments you have hired me for. Don’t give me a long list of photos you want taken, such as you and the groom on the steps outside, then on the little bridge in the grounds, and then a large group shot on the stairs, trust me to do my job and years of experience. A list will stop my creative flare and make the end result rather staged, which is not what we are aiming for. If it’s just 1 or 2 shots you had in mind, of course I will try and make them happen.
How many images will I receive?
It depends on the package you have booked. For full days it is ca 400 (plus) images. Plus another 150 (plus) black & white conversions. However it all depends on what happens at your wedding. Some days are filled with action including garden games, magicians, fireworks to name just a few. The more action the more photos!
Why can’t I receive all the raw files?
Well you don’t go into a restaurant and ask the chef to bring the raw ingredients to your table. The editing process is part of what you are hiring me for. It is a crucial part of the creative process. I take thousands of images during a full day coverage, part of the process is to eliminate the shots leading to the ‘one moment shot’, for example shots with people’s eyes closed, misfired shots etc.. If you see too much it dilutes the memory instead of making it more special.
How much of a deposit/ booking fee do you require and when is it due?
A 20% retainer (and minimum of £250) is due at the time of booking. The rest of the amount is not due until 1 month before the wedding.
Do we have to arrange a meeting?
I highly recommend to meet your photographer to get to know each other a bit before the ‘big day’, it also helps to ease the nerves. If for any reason we can’t arrange a personal meeting, I can set up a Zoom call so we can discuss your wedding day with an online meeting.
How long do I have to wait for my photos?
The usual turnaround time is 6-8 weeks. A little longer in extremely busy seasons or at the end of summer
